Scottish Afternoon

A massive well done to the five children who represented our class this afternoon. You were phenomenal! For those of you who unfortunately couldn't make it, we have taken a video of each child doing a last minute practice with Mrs Paul. David, Lacey and Alyssa recited the poem Fireworks Aff The Castle by Matthew Fitt while Jack and Jay recited Snawman by J K Annand. Very proud of them all!

Rainy Day

Image
Today was a miserable, wet day so we took  advantage of the opportunity to get outside for our walk a mile when the rain finally stopped. The class were obsessed with a large puddle in the playground and spent a good five minutes jumping over it! Unfortunately we had to come in after a few wet feet and soggy trousers!

We have been learning about Steven Brown, a Scottish significant individual known for his art. We recreated one of his pictures, Lewis McZoo using chalk. They look amazing!

Active Spelling

We have been trying out a more active approach to practising our spelling words. The class have 6 stations they can choose from: pipe cleaners, magnetic letters, paint, sugar, sensory and Sumdog. These approaches have been a hit! We will be trying  new ones out in the next few weeks!

Charles Macintosh

Today we were learning about Charles Macintosh. Did you know he was the man that invented the mac? He was from Scotland! We designed our own Mac raincoats!
