Slow Motion Cody!

When the rest of the class were getting ready for lunch, Cody asked for a slow-mo video of him playing his place value game. Although it didn't work out exactly as we planned, we both agreed it was still pretty cool!

Circles Maths

Image
The circles maths group have had a fabulous week securing their understanding of 1 more or less than numbers to 1,000. Today in maths, they played a place value game with Mrs Paul. They had to roll 3 dice and write these numbers down as a HTU number. Then, they were to work out 1 less and 1 more than this! They were very successful! Good job guys!

Our Class Charter

Image
Over the past two weeks we have been learning about the rights of a child. We selected six articles from the UNCRC which we felt best applied to our class charter. From this we created Miss Fraser's responsibilities and Primary 4/5's responsibilities. Take a look at our finished superhero class charter as selected by our class!

When Walk A Mile Goes Wrong!

Image
This afternoon our 15 minute walk a mile took an unexpected turn! We ended up having a whole class game of chaos tig instead! We must've all ran at least 2 miles! Everyone took part, even myself and Mrs Park! We had such a laugh!

Conducting a Survey

Image
Our focus in big maths this term is data handling. As an introduction to this, we created and then carried out our own class survey using tally marks. With our results, we created horizontal bar graph.

Matthew's Achievement

Image
Matthew came into school today with very sore legs! At the weekend he did a sponsored 6 mile walk in order to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. We are so proud of his achievement! Well done Matthew!

Class Targets

On Friday afternoon, the children in Primary 4/5 set themselves a target to achieve over the next few weeks in class. Ask them to share this with you!

This morning we were very lucky to be visited by the beautiful Summer Stevely and her mum, Mrs Stevely. Summer was born during the school holidays and is now 6 weeks old!
